America's wealthiest man James Ward splits from his French ex-wife, leaving their daughter Camille to grow up in France with her mother. On every European business trip, James makes time for Camille, who often accompanies him to high-end events as an English-French bilingual interpreter, shining brilliantly. Eva Grant, a status-obsessed woman, plots a fake assassination to ""save"" James, taking a staged stab wound to win his trust and become his fiancée—with her mother's unscrupulous help—to worm her way into the upper class.
