Después de una ronda de tragos, Sara Joy, una pasante en la Corporación Lawson, actúa bajo la influencia del alcohol y tiene una aventura de una noche con su jefe, Ted Lawson. Al despertarse, se marcha inmediatamente sin que nadie se dé cuenta, pero no logra romper los lazos del todo, ya que accidentalmente deja el currículum de su mejor amiga en la habitación. Aprovechando esto, Mandy Fox se hace pasar por Sara y se muda a Pine View, viviendo bajo el mismo techo que Ted.
