Story
Welcome to Tasting Dongcheng with Shan, an eight-episode micro documentary exploring the soul of Beijing through its most iconic flavors. The series features Shan Jixiang, Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics and President of the Beijing Dongcheng Cultural Development Institute, joined by nine state-banquet master chefs, along with masters of intangible cultural heritage and time-honored brands. Together, they step into twelve culinary landmarks across Dongcheng. Through beloved dishes like Beijing Roast Duck, Shaomai, Beijing Zhajiangmian, Mutton Hotpot, and addictive Crayfish, they reveal the stories traditions and everyday warmth that define the district.
