Story
Veteran designer John Ellison, who had worked for eight years, was laid off by his company. Shortly after, the firm landed a 4.8 billion mega deal using his design plans. As luck would have it, the core patents expired right then. Refusing to reach a settlement, John teamed up directly with the client to start his own business. Starting out in a tiny four-person office, he built his own design empire in five years, while his former company eventually went bankrupt through liquidation.
